at the Slater Mill Gallery at the Visitor's Center

from 07/08/2010 to 08/27/2010

Open Mon.-Sat. 10am-4pm, Sun. 10am-2pm

Slater Mill presents Steve Emma: Artist, Author, and Educator. Steve creates wooden bowls, spoons, and sculpture at his studio and residence in Providence, Rhode Island. His work, at its essence, exemplifies the marriage of function and form, of aesthetics and utility. Hand carved and crafted from native New England hardwoods and other unique woods, Steve's work is experimental, sensuous, sculptural, useful, balanced, ruggedly simple, and elegant. His work has shown at numerous exhibitions throughout New England.

Join us at the opening reception to meet Steve and purchase a signed copy of his book about his work.

  • Opening Reception: Thursday, July 8th, 5:30-7:00PM
