Franco-Canadian Heritage Celebration

from 09/17/2010 to 09/19/2010

The 2010 French-Canadian Celebration events will take place at three locations in Pawtucket:

Blackstone Valley Visitor Center, 175 Main St.,
the LeFoyer Club, 151 Fountain St., 
and Slater Memorial Park, Armistice Boulevard.

Events scheduled at Le Foyer Hall are:

  • Friday, Sept. 17, 7:30-10 p.m., Danse Canadienne (Canadian Folk Dance) and lessons by Pierre Chartrand accompanied by Richard Forest and Martine Billette. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door.
  • Saturday, Sept. 18, 7:30-10 p.m., Un Soiree under the direction of Pierre Chartrand with Richard Forest, fiddler, Martine Billette, step dancer accompanied by Gaetan Morrissette's group, Les Bottes Sauvages and local musicians. Advance tickets are $18, $20 at the door.
  • Sunday, Sept. 19, 8-10 a.m., all you can eat breakfast buffet with performing artist, introduction by Bob Billington from the BVTC. Advance tickets are $12, $15 at the door.

A package deal for all three events is $40. Individual purchase of this can be made via e-mail, mail-in or at Le Foyer social meeting in July and August.

Events at the Blackstone Valley Visitor's Center:

Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 18 and 19, noon-4 p.m., every hour on the hour a presentation will take place featuring various French-Canadian cultural entertainment and presentations.

Events at Slater Park:

Sunday, Sept. 19, in conjunction with the DAR, 2nd Regiment, Le Bourbournaise and possibly two other French Regiments, Revolutionary War Heritage event and presentation.
