Blackstone Chess Festival

The Blackstone Chess Festival features an International tournament (Aug 20-22), workshops (Aug 19 and 20), casual play, problem solving, a Class Championship (8/21), and Quads Sunday (8/22).

Spectators are welcome!

All events take place at the Blackstone Chess Center in Pawtucket, except for the the August 27 (Friday) Chess on Thayer St, in Providence.

The Chess Festival International is a 3 day FIDE rated 5 round swiss system tournament.

Grandmasters, FREE entry.

Prizes $500-300-200.

Not a master? Rated under 2100 $125-$75! Or play in the one day Class Championships. Or come and watch, listen to expert analysis, or play a game or relax in the areas set up for fun games and lounging.

Online entry is $50 for the 5-round 3-day Festival International Open. Online entry to the Saturday 1-day Class Championship is only $20. Under 2000, and under 1500.
